Vietnamese shaking beef (bò lúc lắc)

For 5 servings

1 lb beef sirloin (cut into 1/2″ cubes)
1.5 tsp sugar
1.5 tsp chicken powder
1 tbs + 2 tsp oyster sauce
1/2 tbs corn starch
2 garlic cloves (minced)
2 tbs canola oil
2 green bell pepper (cut into 1/2″ cubes)
2 red bell pepper (cut into 1/2″ cubes)
1 onion (cut into 1/2″ cubes)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
Pepper to taste

  1. In a medium bowl, mix beef + sugar + chicken powder + oyster sauce + corn starch + minced garlic. Set aside for 15-30 minutes.
  2. In a large nonstick skillet, heat canola oil over high heat.
  3. Add marinated beef and stir fry quickly for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Remove the meat to a clean plate.
  5. Use the same nonstick skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  6. Add green bell pepper + red bell pepper + onion. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the beef back into the skillet for a quick stir fry.
  8. Add ground pepper if using.
  9. Serve immediately with french fries or white rice.
